Advisor Code of Conduct
Last updated: June 2026
Purpose
This Code of Conduct sets out the standards expected of every advisor who delivers services through the Eurasia Experts platform. It exists to protect clients, to maintain the credibility of the platform, and to ensure that advisors operate consistently with the professional standards of their respective disciplines.
Acceptance of an engagement through Eurasia Experts constitutes acceptance of this Code in full. Advisors are expected to be familiar with its contents and to apply its principles in every client interaction, regardless of the format or duration of the engagement.
Independence and objectivity
Advisors must provide opinions and analysis that reflect their honest professional judgement. Advice must not be shaped by financial interests in the subject matter, by relationships with counterparties to the client's transaction, or by any other factor that a reasonable person would consider likely to compromise objectivity.
Before accepting an engagement, advisors must disclose to Eurasia Experts any relationship, interest, or circumstance that could give rise to a real or perceived conflict of interest. This includes but is not limited to: existing advisory relationships with counterparties, equity interests in assets under discussion, and professional relationships with parties to a pending transaction.
Where a conflict is identified, Eurasia Experts will determine in consultation with the advisor whether the engagement can proceed with appropriate disclosure to the client, whether a different advisor should be assigned, or whether the conflict precludes participation entirely.
Competence
Advisors must only accept engagements within the scope of their genuine expertise. Representing qualifications, experience, or knowledge that one does not possess is a serious breach of this Code and grounds for immediate removal from the platform.
Where an engagement requires expertise beyond an advisor's primary discipline, the advisor must notify Eurasia Experts promptly so that additional expertise can be sourced or the engagement scope adjusted.
Advisors are expected to remain current in their areas of expertise and to advise clients when a topic requires updated research or specialist input that the advisor cannot personally provide.
Confidentiality
All information shared by clients in the context of an engagement is confidential. Advisors must not disclose client information, project details, transaction terms, or any other non-public information received during an engagement to any third party, except where required by law or with the client's explicit written consent.
This obligation survives the end of the engagement and applies indefinitely. Advisors must take reasonable steps to protect confidential information from unauthorised access or disclosure, including through appropriate handling of digital documents and communications.
Advisors must not use confidential information received during an engagement for personal benefit or for the benefit of parties other than the client.
Client primacy
The client's interest is the advisor's primary obligation during an engagement. Advisors must act in the client's interest, deliver the agreed scope to the highest standard they are capable of, and communicate proactively when circumstances change that are relevant to the client's decision.
Advisors must not solicit additional fees beyond those agreed with Eurasia Experts, must not redirect clients to their own services outside the platform during the term of an engagement, and must not attempt to establish a direct commercial relationship with a client that bypasses the platform during or within six months after a platform-facilitated engagement.
Professional conduct
Advisors are expected to conduct themselves professionally in all client interactions. This includes punctuality, responsiveness within agreed timelines, clarity of communication, and respect for the client's time and context.
Advisors must not make representations about the platform, other advisors, or competitor services that are false, misleading, or disparaging. Feedback about platform operations should be directed to Eurasia Experts directly.
Advisors must comply with all applicable laws and professional regulations in the jurisdictions where they operate and where they provide advice.
Accuracy and transparency
Advisors must clearly distinguish between established fact, professional opinion, and estimation in the advice they provide. Where data is uncertain, where market conditions are volatile, or where outcomes depend on assumptions, these qualifications must be stated explicitly and not buried in technical detail.
Advisors must not overstate the certainty of their conclusions or present speculative analysis as established finding. Where an advisor is not in a position to reach a well-founded conclusion on a topic, they must say so rather than offering a confident opinion they cannot support.
Enforcement
Breaches of this Code will be assessed by Eurasia Experts on a case-by-case basis. Depending on severity, consequences may include a formal warning, suspension from the platform, removal from the advisor network, or referral to relevant professional bodies.
Clients who believe an advisor has breached this Code are encouraged to report their concerns via the contact form on our website. All reports are treated confidentially and investigated promptly.
